I am an insomniac. I don't sleep right or well. It's the reason why I am so tired all the time, the reason I have dark bags under my eyes all the time. In my case, it could be way worse. Unfortunately, I still have Insomnia. It doesn't help that I'm also a night owl.
So, at nighttime, I like to stay up. I love the night with its crisp air, the moon and the stars. I like the dark and the calmness that comes with it. So naturally, I like to stay up late. I'll stay up doing things like drawing, reading or even just listening to music.
But, when I try to fall asleep I have a very, very difficult time. My brain wants to keep working and going, thinking about anything or everything. On a good night, I fall asleep in 45 minutes. Once, I spent two hours trying to fall asleep.
The worst part is that once I do fall asleep, I can't stay asleep. I'll wake up every hour or so. Then I go back into the waiting and waiting to fall asleep. When I wake up, it'll rarely be because of a nightmare. I just wake up with no explanation. Because of this waking up, I either have very weird dreams or no dreams at all.
Basically, Insomnia sucks. The only way that works for me for a couple of nights would be to stay up for a full 24 hours. This extreme fatigue will make me so tired, I nearly pass out when I get into bed. It'll help me sleep well for two or three days. I don't go to this extreme very often, though - it's unhealthy.
I intend to go to the doctor if it gets any worse than it is. It sucks, but it's bearable.
