I've recently discovered the way in which I rely on people. It's not the type of relying where people buy me stuff. Or where I need constant attention. It's rather complicated, so bare with me while I try to explain this.
Basically, I look for consistency in people. For example, I'm constantly noticing what people wear, the way they do their hair, and small mannerisms that may change day-to-day.
"Oh, the brown haired boy is wearing his Cthulhu shirt again."
"That kid has his hair spiked at the front, as always."
"Wait, they just got a haircut."
Usually small stuff like that. I like to have comforting things around me like this. It's almost like validation that nothing bad is happening or has happened. Those small consistencies can even determine my thought patterns.
For example, if someone isn't at school when they usually are, I'll think something bad has happened. It could simply be that they are sick. It could also be something large like somebody in their family died.
I guess I just like to have validation that things are the same. That nothing big is changing.
