Music is a huge thing in many people's lives. I mean, it's HUGE in mine. 9 times out of 10, you will see me with an earbud in my ear. But it's not just the music that people tend to focus on. For some reason, people are obsessed with music tastes.
My music taste is incredibly strange. I'll listen to stuff from Bach, the Pixies, Nirvana, the Velvet Underground, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Doors, the Dropkick Murphys, Hozier, and the Dead Milkmen. From 0 to 100 and back again.
But, for some reason, a lot of people constantly think that music taste can be good or bad. That theirs is better than others. Say I listened to Kesha and you listened to Rammstein. Would you tell me you listen to better music than me?
I just don't understand why people get butthurt about this kind of stuff. Music is music, and people aren't superior based on what they're listening to. Honestly, music should be taken for what it is. It's another person expressing their emotions or thoughts. Sometimes it's just something they play or write for whatever.
In summation, I want to quote David Grohl, singer and guitar player for Foo Fighters. He said, "I believe you should be able to like what you like. If you want to listen to Kesha, listen to Kesha."
